7 days Special safari in Kenya Samburu-Mara: /
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve. (345 Kms, 6hrs)
You will be picked up in Nairobi in the morning and depart for the remote Samburu Game reserve via the scenic surroundings. In the morning you might have a clear view of Mount Kenya. Proceed and arrive at Samburu in time for check in and lunch. After lunch, enjoy afternoon game drives within this semi arid reserve which is home to rare plant and wildlife species. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Ashnil Samburu Camp
Day 2: Samburu national Reserve.
Spend the whole day at leisure with unlimited game viewing drives in this reserve inhabited by special game adapted to the semi arid conditions. These special animals: the Gerenuk, Gravy Zebra, Reticulated Giraffe, Somali Ostrich and the Beisa Oryx can only be seen on the northern part of the Equator. Samburu game reserve is a semi desert with a rugged hilly terrain, with great rocky kopjes (small isolated hills) and lots of springs supporting the abundant wildlife. The Samburu National Reserve was one of the two areas in which conservationists George Adamson and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the Lioness made famous in the best selling book and award winning movie Born free. The Reserve is also the home of Kamunyak, a lioness famous for adopting Oryx calves. Plenty of bird life and other small game can also be seen. All meals and overnight stay at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 3: Samburu- sweet waters conservancy. (140 Kms, 2 hr)
Breakfast at the lodge then drive to Sweetwater’s conservancy to be welcome for lunch at the lodge. Afternoon have a marvelous game viewing drive in the conservancy which will leave you in awe! The ONLY 3 northern white Rhinos remaining on planet are found here, other attractions here include a visit to rhino cemetery, Hippo hide, morani centre and the chimpanzee sanctuary. The Sanctuary opened in 1993 in a negotiated agreement between the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, the Kenya Wildlife Service and the Jane Goodall Institute. The facility was initially established to receive and provide lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) from West and Central Africa. This group of chimpanzees needed to be evacuated due to the outbreak of civil war in Burundi. Guest can also show their supporting by adopting a Chimpanzee, Northern white Rhino or a Black rhino. Dinner and overnight at Sweetwaters Serena Tented Camp.
Day 4: SWEETWATERS – Lake Nakuru National Park. (180 Kms, 3hrs)
Breakfast at the lodge. check out and have an enroute game viewing drive out of the conservancy and Just after arriving at Nanyuki town, you will have a brief stop at the equator for a photographic session as well as demonstration of the “Corriolis Effect” at the equator, you will also get an opportunity to stand in the 2 hemispheres at the same time. Proceed and should time permits you may have a brief stopover at the Thompson falls before driving to Lake Nakuru for Lunch at the Lodge. Have an afternoon game viewing drive with dinner and overnight stay at Sarova Lion hill Game Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara National Reserve ( 320 Kms, 5 hrs)
Breakfast at the lodge followed by a brief game viewing drive out of the park as you head to Africa’s greatest Masai Mara national reserve. Proceed expecting to arrive in time for Lunch. Have an evening game viewing drive in the reserve. Everything in this reserve looks outstanding and the open savannah grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp.
Day 6: Masai Mara National Reserve.
Spend the whole day at leisure with morning and afternoon Game viewing drives in the reserve. You will be guided by our expert driver guide to spot the big five animals: Lion, Elephant, buffalo, leopard and Rhinos, others like, Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelle, Topi and Eland and many more species of plains’ game offer a rich choice of food for the dominant predators; lion, leopard and cheetah which hunt in this pristine wilderness.. All meals and overnight at Sarova Mara Game Camp.
This evening you will enjoy a Boma dinner organized by the Lodge.
Day 7: Masai Mara- Nairobi/Departure. (280 Kms, 4 ½ hrs)
After your last Safari breakfast, depart for Nairobi with some enroute stop overs along the way including the Great Rift valley View point to enjoy a panoramic view of the dramatic escarpment. Lunch will be on own arrangements. Drop off in Nairobi later in the afternoon..
